Wang Zi glanced at Gui Gui who was strolling along happily. He guessed it was probably because she had helped somone, that was why she was so happy.
He stared after her, lost in thoughts. `Why is she so happy? Is it really that nice to help someone?' he pondered over these questions.
Aaron looked at Gui Gui with interest. That kind action of hers stirred something deep in his heart.
* Flashback... *
10 years old Aaron wandered around the streets at night.
Aaron: Where am I? Help! Anybody, please!
Passerbys glanced at him, only to continue whatever they were doing. No one took pity on a small, lost, cold and hungry kid who was standing at the edge of the road.
Voice: Hello, there. Are you lost? That's terrible, what's your name? I can help you.
Aaron looked up to see a pretty teenage girl looking at him.
Aaron: I am Aaron. I think I lost my way!
He broke down in tears and wept into the girl's skirt.
Girl: Aww. Don't cry, now. My name is Victoria and I am going to help you to find your way. Ok?
Aaron: - nodded - Thanks.
Victoria held his hand while walking all over the streets to find his mum. At last, they saw Aaron's mum running all over to find Aaron.
* End of flashback... *
Although this had happened about 10 years ago, he remembered it clearly as it had took place yesterday. He remembered this vividly because this was the only time a person cared for him when he was lost, lonely and confused.
That was why he suddenly felt so attracted to Gui Gui at the moment. Aaron was shocked out of his daydreams by Wang Zi.
`Come on, lets go,' Wang Zi strolled off. Aaron shook himself and moved towards Wang Zi. He smiled sideways and they moved on again.
* A their home... *
( Note: Wang Zi and Aaron are living together because they and their parents are great friends so they bought a mansion together. )
`Masters, you are back,' their housekeeper Mrs Lynn smiled a dimpled smile and waved the two boys in.
`Yes, Aunt Lynn,' they took off their shoes and placed them on the shoes' rack outside the hall. Even though they are rich, their parents had taught them since young to be independent and don't rely on servants too much so they had only a cook and one servant besides Aunt Lynn.
Although Aunt Lynn was merely a housekeeper, she was like a mother to both Aaron and Wang Zi as their own mothers were too busy with socialising and meetings for time to spare with them.
`Come in, tea is ready,' Aunt Lynn walked briskly into the dining room and clapped her hands together, `I heard that Madams and Old Masters have important news to tell you two! So sit down and prepare for the fabulous news!' she winked at them and walked off.
Both the guys grinned back. They knew that Aunt Lynn was obvious to the fact that neither of them were interested in becoming the successor of their family company; Yan & Qiu Co.
Although both their parents did not put any pressure on them, they were still hoping that they wouldn't be the future heir one day. They guessed that Aunt Lynn was wishing that their fathers would announce the news that they had changed their minds later.
`If dad said I don't have to be the successor, I am going to get married now or never, tie me down , understand? That girl down at the restaurant, did you SEE how she smile?' Wang Zi sipped his coffee with a dreamy expression.
Aaron shook his head in amusement and replied, `That's precisely what you told me yesterday. Let's see, it's about that librarian,' he grinned and helped himself to some cake.
`That's sooooo yesterday. I am all about the future,' Wang Zi winked at his best friend. He and Aaron were so close that they were exactly like twin brothers.
`And future you both are going to get,' Aaron's father walked into the dining room with a grand sweep of his hand.
Aaron stood up in respect, `Dad! You are back from America!' he went and hugged his father. `Uncle!' Wang Zi stood up as well. `Hello, little prince!' Mt Yan shook Wang Zi's hand hard and pulled him into a fatherly hug.
Wang Zi flinched. `Little prince?' he raised his eyebrows. Then he grinned. `Hi uncle. Where's my parents and auntie?'
`Tra la la la,' Mrs Yan entered the room and pulled both Aaron and Wang Zi into a bone-crushing hug.
`Mum! I am 20!' Aaron straightened up and emphasised. `Boy, when I am twenty, I was still hugging your grandma! How you youngsters are like nowadays!'
She smiled teasingly at Aaron and turned to Wang Zi, `Xiao Wang, Jane and Roberts must stay in America for some urgent meetings. So they won't be coming back. Are you okay with it?'
Wang Zi grinned and said, `Of course, what with Little Prince and Xiao Wang, I have more than enough care and love!' all of them laughed.
`So dad, whats the news you are going to say?' Aaron reminded his dad, seeing that he had forgotten.
Mr Yan made a gesture to indicate for them to sit down. `As you know, Wang Zi's parents are still in America to settle something right?'
The guys nodded. `Well, all of us are actually trying buy over the biggest company in America!!!'
thrilled Mrs Yan happily.
Mr Yan nodded, `And when we buy it over, both the Yan family and Qiu family will be millionaire!!!'
Wang Zi rolled his eyes, `Uncle, aren't all of us practically millionaires now?'
Mrs Yan shook her little pinky in mock disapproval, `Xiao Wang Wang, this is called investment, okay?'
He flinched again and all the Yan family saw his discomfort and roared with laughter. `Xiao Wang Wang? That's a good one, Jess!' Mr Yan laughed.
`Okay, back to business,' Mrs Yan faced the two guys seriously. `Me and Aaron's father are going back to America tomorrow first thing in the morning. And we had already gave all the servants a month long holidays AND had cut the house's electricity as we will be staying there for one month.' she paused to take a breath.
`WHAT?!' both Wang Zi and Aaron's faces represented shock and astonishment. `How are we going to live like that?' Wang Zi shook his head as he thought of the idea of no electricity for one month.
`Let Jess finish what she was going to say first before voicing out your opinions, Wang Wang,' Mr Yan said with a twinkle in his eye.
Aaron had to stuff more cakes into his mouth to prevent a huge laugh from coming out. He did not want to offend his buddy in any way but `Wang Wang'? Too much for Aaron to bear.
`As I was saying,' Mrs Yan smiled. `The electricity is going to be cut starting from tomorrow, but you two aren't going to stay here of course!'
`HUH?!' Aaron looked up from his plate. `You remember Mrs Cheng, don't you?' When both of them nodded, she continued, `Well, she had a daughter around the same age as you guys and she is living alone with her friend. I forgotten her name but she lives quite near your school. So me and your dad had arranged for both of you to go and stay with her for this one month.'
Before they could reply, Mrs Yan shoved a photo into their hands. `Here this is the girl and her friend who is living with her,' she pointed out.
Aaron and Wang Zi shrugged and took a closer look at the two girls. `WHAT?! THEM?!' both of them shouted at the same time.
